Nanobios Lab

Dr. Anoop Shaji is a BDS graduate from Trivandrum, Kerala and currently, a final year postgraduate scholar pursuing a degree in Biomedical engineering at IIT Bombay, India. His area of interest majorly lies in Oncology-based translational research. He is currently working on a novel oral cancer theranostic nano-drug-delivery system at Nanobios lab, IIT Bombay as part of his final year project. In the past, he had worked under Dr. Suman Chakraborty as a research intern at microfluidics and microscale transport processes laboratory, IIT Kharagpur as well as under Prof. V V Raghavendra Sai at Biosensors laboratory, IIT Madras.

 

Achievements and Honors:

• He was featured recently as one among the Top-75 inspiring Indian dental surgeons list by Sociodent for his unconventional path-breaking journey to motivate the next generation of young doctors.

• He is a regular national-level speaker and he holds the distinction of being the youngest and the first undergraduate dental student in the country with invitations to multiple TEDx talks (TEDx ABBS Bengaluru, TEDx Youth@AKA Hyderabad 2019). He was also the youngest international speaker to be invited for the annually conducted International health tech innovator's conference named InnoHealth and headlined the 2018 event scheduled for October 2018 at NCR, India.

• He was the one of the students who was selected from all over India from all UG streams to be invited as delegate to first ever Nobel prize series in connection to vibrant Gujarat 2017 which was presided by 9 Nobel laureates and the prime minister of India for a conceptual idea pertaining to a potential breakthrough for brain cancer treatment.

• He was awarded All India 1st rank in scientific poster competition during the 70th Indian dental conference 2017 [Yearly IDA national conference] in Mumbai. For an overall well-rounded achievements throughout 2017 & 2018 earned him many honors including the prestigious national awards of FAMDENT

• Excellence in Dentistry BEST UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT 2017 & 2018, International Exemplary Research and Performance Award for BEST UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT 2017, International Dental Excellence Award 2018 for BEST UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER, Indian Dental Association's PROFILE OF THE MONTH (February 2018) & Indian Health Professional award for YOUNG DENTAL ACHIEVER OF THE YEAR of 2017.

• He was honored with a cover feature in a national publication along with an interview by the prestigious IDA for his achievements and contributions to the scientific fraternity in December 2018.
