Gireesh Kumar J, is a PhD student in Nanobios Lab, Biosciences and Bioengineering department, IIT Bombay, India. His area of research involves development of low cost Colorimeters, Fluorimeters, and Spectrometers for medical diagnostics and point of care tests. He is a graduate in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. After qualifying GATE 2011(National level exam) and securing 460 rank in Instrumentation stream, he joined M.Tech in Signal Processing and Control at National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. After M.Tech, he worked as Assistant Professor at Kumaraguru College for Technology, Coimbatore for 4 years (2014 - 2018). He has qualified GATE 2018 with all India rank 1385 in Instrumentation stream and joined Ph.D at IIT Bombay in 2018. He is interested in interdisciplinary translational research, where the theoretical knowledge of various fields is applied to develop solutions for real world problems.
