Dr. Roshan Keshari

Area of Research: Biomaterials, Nanomedicine, Nano-Nutraceuticals, Transdermal Drug Delivery
Email: roshankeshari220@gmail.com

Dr. Roshan Keshari is a researcher and innovator working in the field of biomaterials, nanomedicine, and advanced drug delivery systems. His research focuses on the development of phytochemical-based nanomedicine for transdermal drug delivery, particularly for the localised and systemic treatment of chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and eczema.

Dr Keshari completed his Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Industrial Pharmacy) from the Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, Govt. of NCT, New Delhi. He subsequently joined the NanoBios Laboratory at the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, under the guidance of Prof. Rohit Srivastava, where he conducted his doctoral research on safe, affordable, biomaterials-assisted nanomedicine for improved healthcare solutions.

During his PhD, Dr Keshari was awarded the DAAD In-Region PhD. Scholarship (2020–2025) supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Germany. As part of this program, he also worked as a Visiting PhD. Scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, Heidelberg, Germany (2023), further strengthening his expertise in nanomedicine and biomaterials research.

His research contributions have been widely recognised through several prestigious awards and recognitions, including:

· Naik & Rastogi PhD Excellence Award, 2025 (IIT Bombay)

· Prix Galien Nomination (2025)

· CAS Future Leaders – Top 100 (2025)

· Outstanding Contribution to Pharmaceutical Research – Informa Markets (2024)

· Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award – SRISTI, Government of India (2024)

· Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis Award– Society of Biomaterials and Artificial Organs (2024)

· Lion Pushpa Somaiya Student Excellence Award (2023)

· Visiting Ph.D. Scholar-Max Planck Institute, Supported by DAAD Germany – 2023

· DAAD In-region Ph.D. Scholarship based on this Project-(2020-25)

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Keshari also contributed to the development of several protective healthcare technologies, including antibacterial and antiviral hydrophobic masks, biodegradable alcohol-free sanitizers, apparel sprays, floor disinfectants, and nano-nutraceutical formulations for mild to moderate COVID-19 patients, some of which were widely used in the Indian market.

His research interests include drug delivery, biomaterials, nanomedicine, nano-nutraceuticals, and translational biomedical technologies, with a strong focus on developing safe, affordable, and scalable healthcare solutions.
